Will apple replace my iPhone 3gs?

I have a iPhone 3gs 32gb and its still under warranty. just recently the headphone jack stopped working.. would apple replace it or get it fix? the only thing is that the iPhone was dropped once.. theres a small chip in the back cover of the iPhone. the phone has been like that for couple of months and never had a problem until today.. would apple just take one look at it and because of the slight damage to the casing, not replace it?

I don't think you stand a chance of getting a replacement after dropping it but maybe worth a try.
