| Tiger HI
I Apologise for posting in Capitals but this was felt necessary by me to make this sound as A SHOUT to make people aware of the gravity of the situation of a wonderful beautiful animal of the world THE TIGER is in
ACCORDING TO A FOOLPROOF SURVEY ITS OFFICIAL NEWS NOW THAT THERE ARE ONLY JUST MORE THAN 1100 TIGERS IN THE WILD and STILL DEPLETING
ONEDAY A DAY WILL COME SOON WHEN WE HAVE TO SHOW OUR NEXT GENERATIONS ONLY PICTURES AND EFFIGIES[as we have learnt about dinosaurus]OF THE WONDER OF THE WORLD 'THE TIGER'
BELIEVE ME AT THIS RATE ITS GOING TO HAPPEN VERY SOON DUE TO RAPID FREQUENCIES OF THEIR DISAPPEARANCE.
So i appeal to all the people of the world to take steps to conserve and encourage the survival of this beautiful animal THE TIGER
The best way to protect the tiger needs no heroism but ensure some things like
1.] Save the forests of the world, which are animal homes by discouraging wooden furniture which can be easily replaced with metal or even fibre furniture
2.] Never buy or encourage the sale of tiger skin, bones, nails and even teeth always take time to report the concerned person to the proper authority, believe me this will help a lot AS WHEN THE BUYING STOPS THEN THE KILLING TOO STOPS |

| Re: Tiger Your post is excellent and some informations are really heart-breaking. As an Indian, we all know about Sariska Tiger Reserve where there was not a single tiger living just a few days back. Recently forest dept. has released one male and one female tiger there to increase the tiger population again. The name of 'Sariska' should be a matter of shame for every Indian. Lets hope, no tiger reserve will become another Sariska in near future. |

| Re: Tiger Thanks for the complement and your concern in understanding the current status of the tiger which is on the brink of extinction and soon be relegated to history books

AN EXTRACT FROM TIGER TRUST INDIA ORGANISATION WHICH SINCERELY STRIVES FOR CONSERVING THIS GREAT ANIMAL THEIR OFFICIAL WEBSITE IS http://tigertrustindia.com A TIGER'S APPEAL Hi! I am the Tiger, and I need your urgent support:
to save my skin, and bones from greedy poachers

Act before it is too late, and I am left in your pictures and imagination.

| Re: Tiger Have you read the books written by Jim Corbett? If you are a good reader and as you are quite concerned about tiger, I think you already read it.
In his early days, Corbett had killed many tigers, bears and other wild animals just out of fun. While reading those novel, I feel pity for those innocent animals. They had to be killed just to fulfill the desire of hunting of a man. |

| Re: Tiger no no you totally misunderstood jim corbett actually he just used to hunt and kill man eating tigers and lions which have most fearsome reputation to kill and eat human beings, although in his final book jim corbett too emphasised the need for conversation of tigers but he felt and observed that these animals have become man eaters because their forests were consistently encroached by humans and that led to the shortage of its natural prey like deers etc.., which made them to turn to man eating |

| Re: Tiger Well man just for his own craze sake is killing the scanty animals like anything. so it is really becoming a pathetic condition that their habitat is really decreasing day by day you know. And moreover, this is not the only one reason why their habitat is decreasing. they are really not at all going to be alive in another few years because of their valuable fur and animal skin which people will sell for huge money. they are also used like antiques in many places as decorations. since they are very scanty in foreign countries, they are exported in huge amount to many abroad countries. |

I can't tell you exactly the name of the story at this time, but while chasing a man-eating tiger (either 'Mohun's man-eater' or 'thak Man-eater') he just killed a bear which just came on his way. At his childhood days,he also killed (find it in Jungle Lore) many animals.
I admire Mr Corbett for his courage, his love for nature, his love for the people of this country, but at the same time I felt some anger also. |

| Re: Tiger that i did'nt know, but yes he was a hunter but in his final years he realised the mistake he committed then he strived and put on a lot of efforts to spread the awareness regarding conservation of beautiful wildlife
that is the reason why the then indian government honoured his efforts by naming a big national park on his name.In 1956, it was named as Jim Corbett National Park, in memory of Jim Corbett. Project Tiger, India's ambitious conservation program to save the tiger and its habitat was launched from Corbett in 1973. |

| Re: Tiger Yes at his old age he had became a wild life conservator and done many work to preserve them.
Have you ever visited corbett national park ever? I wish I can visit it and see the places where 'Carpet Sahib' once travelled on his own foot chasing a man-eater. |

| Re: Tiger i visited when i was very young but recently some of my family members have been there in April 2009,first they have been to calcutta and then they toured this jim corbett national park reaching there by some beautiful houseboating system which is similar to the houseboats of jammu and kashmir
sadly even they said it is almost impossible to spot a tiger in this wide park eventhough it is named as a tiger reserve, that is the hard truth about tigers which most people choose to ignore |
