Most people mistake the number of hits a site receives is promotion but i beg to differ as hits can be switch off and switch on or in simple terms Hit and Run without no real involvement or content reading whereas promotion means to make a visitor to get involved with the concerned site through various means like,registration,enrollment,profit sharing memberships etc.., so to promote a site one must actually concentrate on content and its uniqueness rather than blindly ask for a purposeless visits

All Successful Promotions add up as Hits but Not All Hits add up as Successful Promotions

Yes i completely agree with you ,this hit and run business can't make a site poplar it may show fake status of visitors to outside world but in reality its bounce rate will decrease but natural visitors will always come back to a site for its quality content ,infact they will register and try to be involved in the site.I dont like this hits or impression count .

yeah most of the youngsters think that the number of hits means directly proportional to popularity but what they dont know is the content and the unique and exclusiveness of its presentation can make visitors come again and again to their sites,in case of hit and run they just open the browser window and as soon as the time elapses the site is overlapped by another such site especially this goes in the scheme of hit exchanges,which is a waste of time and energy

Those sites which are coming through any PTC sites depend mainly on these hit and run programe. People are clicking their link just for credit, they are not interested for the contents. If I see from the point of view of those site owners, what they would achieve by such types of clicks is not clear. May be they are earning by pay per impression advertisements or something like that.

Yeah paid to click and traffic exchange and reciprocal surfing programmes do promote and encourage this hit and run way of things going round,in this way neither the user nor the advertiser is gaining really except for some short term psychological gains

any exchange of traffic or even visits must be regulated to participation unless this happens this hit and run continues to go on and on in its irrelevant journey

Then what is the source of income of those website owners if their sites are advertised on these hit and run programe? Would it be some pay per impression or something like that? Could any one clear me story just behind it?

It's really interesting to know about Hit and Run. Nice information, pal. Can you tell me, is there any difference between PTC and PPC or both the terms are same ?
